First Environment gains CHAS Accreditation

First Environment now holds CHAS accreditation as a validation of our health and safety standards. The company has for many years held safeContractor accreditation which is a similar and widely recognised scheme amongst many of our commercial clients. The addition of CHAS provides further validation of our systems and is accepted widely amongst our public sector client base as a required qualification.

BSRIA Guide on Precommission Cleaning Updated

BRSIRA has updated its well referenced guide on pre-commission cleaning of closed water systems. The previous guide (AG1.2001 Pre-commission cleaning of pipework systems) has been revised and replaced by the new publication BG29/2011 Pre-commission cleaning of pipework systems.

The major changes are expansion in the process for validation of system cleanliness for acceptance post-cleaning and for management of systems between cleaning and hand-over. Greater emphasis and guidance is given on the testing process and on how reconnection of sections of systems are managed such as following fit-out or refurbishment works.

This is an aspect that many clients and Landlords are now using the independent services of First Environment for. In particular to undertake the witnessing and sampling of closed systems to verify the quality of pre-commission cleaning works and suitability of water quality for isolation prior to works or reconnection following works.
